Outage Credits:

Any period of inaccessibility due to power failure, internet network failure, or other failure lasting longer than 30 minutes will be credit as follows:

• 0-30 minutes: No Credit
• 30-60 minutes: 5% of monthly base fee, excluding any add-on services
• Each additional 30 minutes; 10% of monthly base fee

Reinstallation Credits:

In the event of a customer-requested reinstallation VIA support ticket, if such reinstall is not completed within 6 hours after initial staff response, said customer will be credited 25% of one month's fee upon request.

In order for YOU to receive a credit on YOUR account, YOU must request such credit within seven (7) business days after YOU experienced no service availability.
YOU must request credit by creating a ticket under the support department clearly outlining your IP address, incident start, incident end and the support ticket ID you used when troubleshooting the issue.
Credits will usually be applied within sixty (60) days of YOUR credit request. Credit to your account shall be YOUR sole and exclusive remedy for any outage related to your service including those caused by gross negligence by McHost or its staff.

Restrictions and Limitations

Restrictions

Credits shall not be provided to YOU in the event that YOU have no service availability resulting from (i) scheduled maintenance, (ii) YOUR behavior or the performance or failure of YOUR equipment, facilities, software, scripts, code, or applications, or (iii) circumstances beyond McHost's reasonable control, including, without limitation, acts of any governmental body, war, insurrection, sabotage, embargo, fire, flood, strike or other labor disturbance, interruption of or delay in transportation, unavailability of interruption or delay in telecommunications or third party services (including DNS propagation), failure of third party software or hardware or inability to obtain raw materials, supplies, or power used in or equipment needed for provision of YOUR service.

Limitations

On-line problems occur continuously. There might come a time when you cannot access your service or any other service. This is not necessarily due to a failure of the McHost Network or hardware. McHost's monitoring agents are the sole determinate of the uptime of our service, and not any one client's experience.

The McHost Network

Our network has over 72Gbps bandwidth and was designed with latency in mind. Short routes and good peering are two great things about our network. It's designed to be fully redundant and self healing from top to bottom. The only single possible point of failure is the connection to the physical server which limits any risk to a single rack or server. Each Foundry EI-4802CF access switch dual uplinks to a Foundry FESX-424 allowing for local layer 3 switching, policy assignment and egress DoS protection. The FESX provides redundant service by utilizing VSRP/VRRP ensuring that both layer 2 and layer 3 traffic has an alternate path in the event of a failure.

Each FESX connects via 10GbE to one of a paired Force10 E600's which act as layer 3 aggregation routers. In addition to the direct connections to the E600's, each FESX connects to its hot-spare through a dedicated 10GbE connection ensuring that in the event of a physical network cable/fiber cut the device does not need to degrade its master status and can continue passing traffic through its hot spare thus limiting the amount of actions taking place in the event of a minor failure. The E600's interface with multiple Juniper M20's which peer with our bandwidth providers via multiple redundant fiber connections providing a maximum throughput of roughly 72Gbps. The E600's and the M20's communicate internally via iBGP allowing for extensive route mapping and traffic shaping helping us to provide you with the fastest connections and least latent path possible.

Utility Service

The Avaya Tenovis Databurg has dual power feeds from a substation close by.  This unique location ensures that our power availability is amongst the highest in the city.

Main Electrical Distribution System
The facility is equipped with two main electrical distribution buses. Each bus is supported by the utility supply and by an independent generator system. Any one bus is redundant.

UPS Systems
A total of Five (5) 500 kVA UPS modules are installed in an N+1 model. Each UPS module is equipped with batteries that with a fully occupied data center provide at least 15 minutes of power, an internal static bypass and an external maintenance bypass.

The condition of the batteries is continuously observed using a state-of-the-art battery monitoring system.

Standby Generator Systems
One (1) 2500 kVA Generator. Each generator is equipped with a self-contained integral diesel fuel tank sized to support the full load for 24 hours. A second 2500 kW diesel generator set can be added that will activate if the primary generator set fails.
